A Boudoir Experience is an amazing way to celebrate your birthday - if we do say so ourselves!

Your birthday should be about celebration. I know some people feel funny about being in the spotlight but it is important that we take the time to celebrate how far we have come, and to reflect positively on the person we have become. We don’t think that should be limited to just one day, but a birthday is defnitely a day where you’re allowed to focus on yourself, and be made to feel as incredible, and loved, as you are.

We also understand that birthdays can bring up a whole load of complex emotions. We talk to a lot of Divas who feel conflicted around ageing. Growing older is a natural, beautiful thing but sometimes society can make it hard to engage with that fact. It can be easy to get lost in the changes our body may go through, and to look nostalgically backwards instead of revelling in who you are today.

A Birthday Boudoir Photoshoot may be exactly what you NEED to get the party going, and to fall absolutely, and utterly, in love with yourself this year.

Not only is it a fun, adventurous, unique and luxurious way to spend your birthday (plus your make-up will be professionally done for any evening plans!) but it will also be a way to gift something to the future you - a way to commemorate and celebrate the person you are today, whilst also creating something that will continue to help you build your confidence for years to come.

My name is Sam!

What birthday were you celebrating by booking?

I was celebrating my 45th birthday. I wasn't really looking to book, but then I saw the post of Facebook about the experience and I enquired. I had always want to have a Boudoir photoshoot, and I was very excited when I got a phone call back! After talking to Shannon, I knew that this was what I wanted to do.

Why did you book a Divas Boudoir experience for your birthday?

It was a day to celebrate me. It had been a year of change, with some health concerns and I wanted a way to celebrate myself as not just a Mum. I also wanted to have some beautiful photos of me, as my husband doesn't take many! My plan is to have some more taken as a way to document getting older.

What did your Divas experience, and your artwork, help you celebrate - or reconnect with - about yourself?

I was speaking to my friend the other day, and I finally feel I'm in a good place. The photos were a great start to celebrate me and finding my inner Diva. My photos blew me away; they just proved that, given the opportunity, every one can look beautiful.

What stood out about the day?

The day was just amazing; the time taken to make you feel at ease, the makeover, and just the experience of feeling free is totally incredible.

I loved having my photo being taken, and having the chance to celebrate myself. I didn't want it end. Jesse, my photographer, was very kind and helpful in showing me the poses, and helped me choose what to wear.

Do you have any tips for any other birthday Divas thinking of doing it?!

To other Divas thinking about celebrating their birthdays, whatever the age, it is the most wonderful way we can honour the way we are ageing; it is a way to celebrate how far we we have come and anything we have had to overcome.

My tips would be this: wear what you feel comfortable with, but be prepared to push a little more as you will feel the most beautiful you have ever felt.

What is your name Diva?

My name is Becki, and I came in for my Divas Experience in 2024!

What birthday were you celebrating by booking?

I was celebrating my 40th birthday.

Why did you book a Divas Boudoir experience for your birthday?

I wanted to celebrate myself and my body and how well it has got me through life so far! I wanted to ‘indulge’ and treat myself to something really special and sort of commemorative.

What did your Divas experience, and your artwork, help you celebrate - or reconnect with - about yourself?

I’d lost myself in motherhood, day-to-day mundanity and wondering where the years are going. My shoot really helped me with feelings around my c-section scar in particular, but it was also great to have a permanent reminder to look at to show myself that I am a strong independent, modern woman who is capable and confident - like a goddess!

What stood out about the day?

All of the team were absolutely wonderful and so welcoming and friendly and understanding. I knew beforehand that I would probably want to do nude but I was surprised at how quickly I felt comfortable. The building is amazing and sets up a great atmosphere!

Do you have any tips for any other birthday Divas thinking of doing it?!

Of course I would say just do it, it will be one of the best birthday presents you have ever bought for yourself! (My mother is thinking of going for one for her 60th too after she previously did 40 and 50! 😄). It’s a day just about you, and you are worth celebrating.

What is your name Diva?

My name is Julia.

What birthday were you celebrating by booking?

It was not a milestone but it was my first birthday since splitting from husband, and I knew it would feel strange not having someone around me making me feel special so I wanted to make the special for myself!

Why did you book a Divas Boudoir session for your birthday?

I booked so that I wouldn't focus on any loneliness on my birthday, but instead on myself and the fact that I deserved to have an awesome birthday.

What did your Divas experience, and your artwork, help you celebrate - or reconnect with - about yourself?

My experience and artwork allowed me to be me; to feel special and amazing. It also showed me that I don't need anyone else to make my birthday special. I can do that for myself by making time for me!!

Do you have any tips for any other birthday Divas thinking of doing it?!

My tip would be allow yourself to have fun, you don’t need to wait for permission. Birthdays are supposed to the times where the focus is on you, and I sometimes think that people worry too much about making sure they are putting other people first, and then feel guilty when they want to put themselves first - I know I do! If you can’t do it for your birthday, then when can you do it?!

What is your name Diva?

Maria.

What birthday were you celebrating by booking?

It was part of the year long celebrations, rather than on my birthday itself! I think the 50th was more an excuse to do it if I’m honest!

Why did you book a Divas Boudoir experience for your birthday?

I chose to do it also because my husband had died 14 months before and my confidence was low. However, I was starting to explore who I was and what I wanted from life. For me, this includes an exploration of my sexuality. This felt a perfect way to do this, and it felt a bit exhibitionist and naughty.

What did your Divas experience, and your artwork, help you celebrate - or reconnect with - about yourself?

They are amazing. It was amazing to see my body through someone else’s eyes - or through the camera lens anyway. This made me realise I am quite sexy!

What stood out about the day?

Everyone put me at ease and it actually felt fine to get my kit off and have the photos taken. The team were really flexible and supportive.

Do you have any tips for any other birthday Divas thinking of doing it?!

I’d suggest that anyone thinking about it should do it. It’s liberating, exhilarating and you will see yourself in a completely new light.

What is your name Diva?

I’m Elaine!

What birthday were you celebrating by booking?

I booked my Divas Boudoir Photoshoot to celebrate my 60th birthday. I brought my two best friends to join me on the day as well.

Why did you book a Divas Boudoir experience for your birthday?

I wanted to have a lasting happy memory of my 60th birthday after the end of a 15 year relationship, followed last year by emergency surgery which was significant in its nature.

What did your Divas experience, and your artwork, help you celebrate - or reconnect with - about yourself?

Divas reminded me that I am often courageous, despite my fears. It shouted - I may not have the body that I feel is perfect but the one I have has held me through all sorts of battles. The photos reflected back to me the passion that still runs in my blood, and the fun I try to bring to myself and those around me at every opportunity. These are all things that I like about myself that I was no longer acknowledging.

What stood out about the day?

The Boudoir team, and the professional yet ‘like friends’ vibe that I felt all day. Nothing was overlooked or seemed a problem. The photographer Jesse was simply fantastic in moving me from an awkward, stiff object to feeling like a model able to forget self-imposed restrictions and to simply live in the moment! Together we achieved my stunning photographs. I cannot wait to see the artwork!!

Do you have any tips for any other birthday Divas thinking of doing it?!

My advice is this… Book the session (consider it a positive catalytic opportunity) and simply give up control for the day. Relax, be open and authentic and the team will do everything else to support you in achieving visual pictures of yourself that you will surely love and learn from…forever.

What birthday were you celebrating by booking?
I was celebrating my 50th.

Why did you book a Divas Boudoir experience for your birthday?

Ultimately, I wanted to see if I could reconnect with my younger self. My big birthday, 50, was the perfect time to indulge myself and rediscover the girl in me. I felt lost amongst the ageing process...like my beauty was gone, and wondered if it still existed.

What did your Divas experience, and your artwork, help you celebrate - or reconnect with - about yourself?

My artwork has given me so much confidence. I love the way I'm getting older and feel as beautiful now as I did at 21.

What stood out about the day?

The day was relaxing and everyone was very supportive. I enjoyed the makeover and the Boudoir photoshoot in its entirety. Neill, my photographer, was lovely to be around. I wasn't self conscious; it felt like a very safe space to explore my sensuality. Jo was fabulous to talk to...I could've sat with her all day. She made me feel incredibly comfortable and allowed me to be myself from the get go.

Do you have any tips for any other birthday Divas thinking of doing it?!

Don't overthink it. Trust that the team will make you feel exceptionally welcome and safe. I felt I was with friends who wanted the best for me.

And, remember, be yourself - unapologetically so. Enjoy every minute and celebrate your uniqueness!

What is your name Diva?

My name is Kaitlyn and I was celebrating my 30th birthday.

Why did you book a Divas Boudoir experience for your birthday?

I applied for the Divas Boudoir experience because I was turning 30 for my birthday and felt like it was a big milestone as an adult and as a woman, and yet I was still struggling with perceptions of my identity when it comes to being a woman, my sexuality, my "sexiness", etc. Suddenly it hit me that there was a whole side of myself that I didn’t understand/wasn't comfortable with, and turning 30 put that in perspective.

Plus, I never spend money on myself, and wanted to give myself permission to spend money on myself, for once.

What did your Divas experience, and your artwork, help you celebrate - or reconnect with - about yourself?

My experience helped me see how I am sexy, feminine, and womanly - in my own way. I've always struggled with not feeling "classically" feminine, so having a day, and art, that shows off ME, for who I am, really solidified that in my own perception.

What stood out about the day?

It's hard to pick just one thing that stood out, because the experience was so much more than I was expecting. Probably a combination of the utter genuine friendliness/relaxed/comforting attitude of your team, and the creativity and fun of getting to work together to create something that made me feel like myself, in a very vulnerable and unfamiliar setting.

Do you have any tips for any other birthday Divas thinking of doing it?!

Go all out. Look at ideas on Pinterest, really get involved in the discovery calls, consider the props you'd want to bring (options are great) or use from the Divas collection, and really lean into the whole day.

No other day is more about you than your own birthday, so I'd say use your Diva day as an opportunity to spring into whatever you hope for yourself in your next phase of life, or next year!
