Are You Worried About Scars? Let’s Talk About Boudoir & Scarring

TW: Scarring

I recently spoke to an amazing woman on the phone - and that conversation has inspired me to write this!

This lady on the phone was voicing her fears about her Boudoir Experience because of her scars from several operations. She was worrying about whether she could walk through our doors, whether her confidence would hold her back - despite really wanting to.

I know that, for many Divas, scars are a huge topic - and so many women are on different points of their journey with their own scars. Some see them as battle scars that show their resilience and they want to celebrate them as proof that they’re still around today, others struggle with them and the changes that it has brought to their body.

But what I’m here to say is this - no matter where you’re at on your journey, do not let them hold you back from coming to us.

We’re not here to tell you how to feel about them, if you want to celebrate them that’s so incredible but if you’d also rather we focus on parts of you that make you feel more confident - then that’s okay too!

This is the experience of one the amazing women who has been to us - which I thought you’d all like to read:

“When I first booked my photoshoot I was completely out of my comfort zone. I’ve never felt confident about my body. Having had back surgery, scoliosis, plus a double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer,  I was embarrassed. Being a single mum I never thought anyone would find me attractive. However, my amazing best friend Lisa helped to give me confidence telling me how beautiful I am and I booked the experience.

I’ve never been great with hair and make up and Jo has made me look amazing. Neill made me feel so relaxed and comfortable during the shoot that I really pushed my boundaries.

The results are amazing. I’d recommend this to anyone.”

So I hope this reminds you that you can do EVERYTHING you dream of - and if that thing is Boudoir, you can 100% do it and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
