“You’re Crying at How You Have Rediscovered Yourself.”

This amazing Diva, Angela, has actually been to us twice. This most recent time she came to us as part of the 40 over 40 project.

We talked on the phone in our Discovery Call and she was incredibly nervous, but Angela decided to fight the self-doubt and book.

She told us that, for her, this was about learning to EMBRACE who she is. It was about learning that she doesn’t have to change anything about her - instead she had to learn to embrace the real her.

We learnt so much about her - the strength and kindness she shows to her loved ones and family; the journey she had been on, and where she is today - celebrating, in her words, the ‘mature’ me. We stepped away from this idea of ‘reinvention’ which she had initially come to us with - and we worked towards realising and appreciating the beauty that she brings to other lives. We got to speak to her gorgeous best friend and learn more about her through her eyes too - and by the end, we knew our job was to get her to see herself as others saw her.

When she saw her photos, she cried. This is what she said.

 This is what she said.

“I promise you will never regret having a shoot. Do it for yourself. You don’t necessarily need to prove yourself to anyone. It’s a self belief process in which your inner soul will shine through.

We are all women with history and a story - we are all different but, equally, our stories are very much the same too. The scars, physical and mental, won’t go away but we have to learn how to embrace them for making us who we are.

I am sure everyone has a degree of nerves, particularly those of us who are camera shy, but on the day it just doesn’t matter. Smile, laugh and enjoy the moment.

You will likely cry at your photos - not because you’re sad but because it feels like you’re re-discovering the real you again. Don’t leave it too long to do that.

The work that Divine Divas did was such a massively positive step in helping me understand how to celebrate who I am.

Yes, this is me. I love me.

I will be rebooking in due course as I know the welcome back and support from the team will be incredible.”

It’s so beautiful to look at these photos and see the reminder they’ve become - an incredible woman, loved by many, taking the time to celebrate herself too
